Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a general term for polymers obtained from acrylamide homopolymers or copolymers with other monomers. It is one of the most widely used varieties of water-soluble polymers. Because the polyacrylamide structural unit contains an amide group, it is easy to form hydrogen bonds, has good water solubility and high chemical activity, and it is easy to obtain a variety of modified products with branched or network structures through grafting or cross-linking. . , widely used in petroleum exploration, water treatment, textile, papermaking, mineral processing, medicine, agriculture and other industries. At present, the largest consumption is in the field of oil production, and the fastest growing field is in the field of water treatment and papermaking.
Polyacrylamide Properties
Polyacrylamide is a water-soluble linear polymer polymerized by free radical initiation of acrylamide (AM) monomer. It has good flocculation and can reduce the frictional resistance between liquids. It can be divided into ionic characteristics. Four types of nonionic, anionic, cationic and amphoteric. Polyacrylamide (PAM) is insoluble in most organic solvents, such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, ether, aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons, except for a few polar organic solvents, such as acetic acid, acrylic acid, chloroacetic acid, ethylene glycol, glycerol, Melted urea and formamide. However, these organic solvents have limited solubility and often need to be heated, otherwise they have little application value. It can be dissolved in water in any proportion, and the aqueous solution is a uniform and transparent liquid. The size of the molecular weight has little effect on the solubility, but when the solution concentration is higher than 10%, the high molecular weight polymer can exhibit a gel-like structure due to the bonding of intermolecular hydrogen atoms. High molecular weight solutions are pseudoplastic fluids.
Product process
How to use polyacrylamide:
1. Granular polyacrylamide flocculants cannot be directly added to sewage. It must be dissolved in water before use, and its aqueous solution is used to treat sewage.
2. The water for dissolving the granular polymer should be clean (such as tap water), not sewage. Water at room temperature is sufficient, generally no heating is required. The dissolution is very slow when the water temperature is lower than 5 ℃. When the water temperature increases, the dissolution speed is accelerated, but above 40°C will accelerate the degradation of the polymer and affect the use effect. Generally, tap water is suitable for preparing polymer solutions. Strong acid, strong alkali, high salt water are not suitable for preparation.
3. The choice of polymer solution concentration is recommended to be 0.1%-0.3%, that is, 1g-3g of polymer powder is added to 1 liter of water.
