PAM Chemical Water Treatment Polymer For Mining Industry Flocculant
Polyacrylamide is a linear water-soluble polymer and one of the most widely used water-soluble polymer compounds. Polyacrylamide is widely used in water treatment, papermaking, petroleum, coal, mining, metallurgy, geology, textile, construction and other industrial fields. PAM and its derivatives can be used as efficient flocculants, thickeners, papermaking enhancers and drag reducers.
Polyacrylamide use characteristics
1. Flocculation: PAM can make suspended substances neutralize by electricity, bridge adsorption, and flocculate.
2. Adhesion: It can play an adhesive role through mechanical, physical and chemical effects.
3. Resistance reduction: PAM can effectively reduce the frictional resistance of the fluid. Adding a small amount of PAM to the water can reduce the resistance by 50-80%.
4. Thickening: PAM has thickening effect under neutral and acid conditions. When the pH value is above 10, PAM is easy to hydrolyze. Thickening will be more pronounced in a semi-reticular structure.
The use of polyacrylamide should follow the following principles:
1. Granular polyacrylamide flocculants cannot be directly added to sewage. It must be dissolved in water before use, and its aqueous solution is used to treat sewage.
2. The water for dissolving the granular polymer should be clean (such as tap water), not sewage. Water at room temperature is sufficient, generally no heating is required. The dissolution is very slow when the water temperature is lower than 5 ℃. When the water temperature increases, the dissolution speed is accelerated, but above 40°C will accelerate the degradation of the polymer and affect the use effect. Generally, tap water is suitable for preparing polymer solutions. Strong acid, strong alkali, high salt water are not suitable for preparation.
3. The choice of polymer solution concentration is recommended to be 0.1%-0.3%, that is, 1g-3g of polymer powder is added to 1 liter of water.
