Cationic Polyacrylamide Flocculant CPAM Chemicals For Mineral Beneficiation
Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) is a white powder and linear polymer. Because it has a variety of active groups, it is compatible with many substances and forms hydrogen bonds through adsorption. The molecular weight is 8-12 million. The ion degree is 20%~55%, and the water solubility is good. It can be dissolved in water in any proportion, but insoluble in organic solvents. It has the characteristics of polymer electrolyte and is suitable for treating wastewater with anionic charges and organic matter.
They can not only destroy the stability of liquids by acting on the interface, but also build bridges between solids. Due to the high concentration of ammonium groups, the polymer has an osmotic effect and squeezes out water. This is effective for sludge because the high cationicity in the sludge also provides shear-resistant flocs.

1) Polyacrylamide is an organic polymer compound, which can be divided into anionic polyacrylamide, cationic polyacrylamide and non-ionic polyacrylamide. It is white powder or granule, easily soluble in water, but the dissolution speed is very slow;
2) Anionic polyacrylamide is generally used as a flocculant for wastewater treatment, and cationic polyacrylamide is generally used for sludge dewatering;
3) When used as a flocculant, the dosage is generally 1-2ppm, that is, the dosage for each ton of wastewater treated is about 1-2g;
4) When in use, the anionic type is generally formulated into about 0.1% aqueous solution, and the cationic type can be formulated into 0.1%-0.5%;
5) When preparing the solution, first add water to the dissolving tank, then turn on the mixer, and then slowly add PAM along the vortex. PAM cannot be put in quickly at one time, otherwise PAM will clump to form "fish eyes" and cannot be dissolved;
6) After adding PAM, generally continue to stir for more than 30 minutes to ensure complete dissolution;
7) The dissolved PAM should be used as soon as possible. Generally anionic type should not exceed 36 hours. The cationic type is easily hydrolyzed after being dissolved. Should be used within 24 hours.
